Bike Latemar / Dolomites

The Latemar Ronda

… is one of the most popular bike tours in Obereggen and is an absolute classic for your bike holiday in South Tyrol.

Route

The tour starts directly from the hotel and follows along trail number 8 through picturesque flower meadows and shady forests all the way to the fascinating Lake Carezza. Who could ride past this magical place without taking a souvenir photo? Unthinkable! After a short photo stop, the journey continues up to the Costalunga Pass (1,745 m) and then along a beautiful forest path down to Moena (1,148 m).

The cycle path leads through the Val di Fiemme to the valley station of the gondola lift in Predazzo. Load the bikes into the gondola and ride up to Baita Gardonè (1,700 m) – the perfect place for a small or large snack. Continue on with the chairlift to Passo Feudo (2,121 m). You can also easily take the bikes with you on the chairlift. Once at the top, it’s time to get off, enjoy the breathtaking views and then it’s all downhill, past the idyllic alpine meadows of the Val d’Ega to Obereggen (1,600 m). The Latemar Ronda; a tour that is full of unforgettable impressions!

The Val d’Ega bike park

The Val d’Ega bike park …

is located at the valley station of the village lift in Nova Ponente and at the mountain station of the cable car in Nova Levante – an adrenalin-packed experience for beginners and pros alike.

Seven different jumps and steep-walled bends, stairs and rock gardens, drops and see-saws, skill courses and much more – you can really let off steam in the 3,500 m² Nova Ponente bike park. The Flowtrail Carezza and the Pumpline Carezza in Nova Levante are just as adrenaline-packed.

The Catinaccio tour

… starts directly from our hotel and is a beautiful, easy and, above all, a leisurely tour through the Dolomites.

Route

Follow trail number 8 until you reach Lake Carezza. A few photos here are a must, after all, the route shows the mountain lake from its most beautiful side. From here, a small forest trail leads up to the Grandhotel Carezza and further on to the Hotel Moseralm. Follow the beautiful forest road along the serpentine bends to the Köblegg meadows. It is well worth taking a break here to marvel at the Dolomites up close: on the right the enchanting Catinaccio, on the left the imposing Latemar.

Continue across the meadows to the Nigerstraße, where you will find various alpine huts to stop for a break and some refreshments. Small tip: the Ochsenhütte is always worth a visit. After lunch, the trail continues down over the Costalunga Pass (1,745 m) to the Lake Carezza and back to Obereggen via the Bewaller forest and the Bewaller meadows.

Ride around the Corno Bianco

… and discover it from a different perspective! At a length of 50 kilometres, the trail is the longest, as well as the most varied in the entire area.

Route

Saddle up on your e-bike and set off for Novale. Follow the beautiful forest trail number 8 behind the Rider Hotel, which leads you to Rio Nero. Turn left onto trail number 9 and head towards the Lieg Alm mountain hut. After a short but intense ascent (approx. 1 km), turn right in the direction of “Eggel” and follow trails 9 and 8 to Nova Ponente to the Bühlhof (1,456 m). With a wonderful view of the Catinaccio and Sciliar, walk along pilgrimage trail no. 2 to the Madonna di Pietralba monastery (1,520 m).

Continue along the long-distance trail, a wonderfully pleasant forest trail, to Neuhütt. It’s worth taking a break there before continuing on the Perlenweg, first to the Malga Ora and then to the Lavazè Pass (1,802 m). From the Lavazè, the trail descends for about 4 km to the “Stuppnersäge” (1,566 m) and then turns right towards Absam and then up to the Laner Alm (1,826 m) directly below the local mountain Latemar. From there it’s another 3 km downhill directly to the hotel.
