Sneak Peek into our Wine Week

A VISIT TO KORNELL WINERY

As part of our Wine Week, together with host David, we went for a visit to the renowned winery Kornell at Settequerce. A place known for its distinctive wines and unforgettable tasting experiences.

The historic estate, with its beautiful gardens and views across the Oltradige region, makes a lasting impression from the very first moment. We were warmly welcomed by Sales Manager Josef Seebacher, who shared fascinating insights into the area’s unique climate and geology. While the vineyards around Settequerce produce powerful red wines, the elegant white wines come from carefully selected vineyards around Bolzano, Oltradige, and the Bassa Atesina region.

We then continued into the winery’s cellar, where we learned about Kornell’s philosophy and its meticulous ageing and winemaking methods. It quickly became clear how much passion, precision, and patience go into every single bottle.

The visit concluded with a tasting of selected wines. In a relaxed atmosphere, we enjoyed discovering their diversity, accompanied by a traditional South Tyrolean platter.

OUR FAVORITES
  • Sauvignon Cosmas – floral, fresh, and mineral
  • Cuvée Aichberg – full-bodied, exotic, and elegant
  • Merlot Riserva Staffes – smooth, velvety, and finely structured

These wines are also featured on the Sonnalp wine list, allowing you to enjoy them during a delightful dinner or as an aperitivo on our terrace – while admiring the view of the Latemar.

We are already looking forward to the next highlights of our Wine Week.
Stay tuned!
