Bletterbach Canyon

This canyon is also called the Canyon of South Tyrol. The Bletterbach Canyon is about 8 kilometres long and up to 400 metres deep. The canyon developed about 15,000 years ago as a result of weather influences and erosion. Fossils, imprints, impressions of parts of plants and many traces of animal activity (eating, burrowing), provide information of times gone by.
